EHS ACADEMIC RECOGNITION

 
1. ACADEMIC HONORS
Grades 9-12
 
A.  An Academic Honor is earned when a student achieves a GPA of 3.5 or higher for 2 consecutive semesters
B.  Students can earn a chenille letter, patches and pins throughout the 4 years of high school (purchase of eligible items required; ASB card provides discounts)
 
2. NATIONAL HONORS SOCIETY (NHS)
Grades 10-12
 
A.  An academic recognition club in which students must maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher to be eligible to apply –      community service is required
B.  Application process begins in the fall
C.  Graduation sash is rewarded to eligible participating students
 
3. CALIFORNIA SCHOLARSHIP FEDERATION (CSF)
Grades 10-12
 
A.  An academic recognition club in which students must earn points based on coursework to be eligible to apply –    community service is required
B.  Application process begins in the fall
C. Graduation sash is rewarded to eligible participating students
 
4. SUPERINTENDENT'S HONOR ROLL
Grade 12
 
A.  Students that have earned straight A’s throughout 9th, 10th, and 11th grade are awarded this honor at the start    of the senior year and are recognized in front of the entire staff
B.  No remediation of grades is allowed
C.  Graduation Cord representing all CJUHSD school colors is awarded to the eligible students. 
 
5. CUM LAUDE
Grade 12
 
A.  Students earning 3.75 or above GPA (ACADEMIC) at the end of 7 semesters are recognized and notified via        congratulatory let in March
B.  Any D/F will disqualify a student; remediation of grades is allowed but must be exact course (I.E. prep for        prep and honors for honors)
C.  Eligible students are invited to audition to be a speaker at graduation
